API Limits
The FundraisingBox API limits the number of REST API requests that you can make within a specific amount of time. This limit helps prevent abuse and denial-of-service attacks, and ensures that the API remains available for all users.
Scope of API limits
The limits described below, apply to the following APIs:
- Form Prepopulation API
- Session API
- Form API
- Payment API
- FundraisingPage JSON API
- Cart API
- FundraisingBox REST API
The API limits naturally do not apply to our outgoing webhooks.
API Limits
Described below are the rate limits for our APIs. Rate limits are enforced for every organization.
Rate limits by organization token:
- 5000 API requests per hour per organization
- 120 000 API requests per 24h per organization
- No limits on number or parallel requests
Exceeding the API rate limit
If you exceed your rate limit, you will receive a HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests)
response with the x-ratelimit-reset
header containing the date-time of when the API limit resets in UTC epoch seconds.
Requesting API limit increase
The API limits described in this section are soft limits and can be adapted. Please contact support to request higher API limits for your organization.
